A quick note on the road from Hank

Posted on September 15th, 2006 in General by Trey

Thanks to all of you that have supported me throughout this campaign and thank you in advance for your continued support and hard work. As we enter the home stretch of this campaign, we have to continue to remain diligent in our pursuit to take back our government. We finally have our opponent’s attention. We have successfully shut down his campaign issues by exposing his horrible lege record. He has now resorted to “scare” tactics, like the Republican party used in ‘04 to get Bush re-elected. He is telling people now that he is the only one that can protect our food supply from bioterrorism. GIVE ME A BREAK! He praises the current commissioner on the job she’s done, and he intends to follow suit. She’s done absolutely nothing to protect our food supply, and believe me, he will do nothing differently. We have received the endorsements of the Fraternal Order of the Police, Texas Democratic Veterans, and the other Democratic organizations. We need the help of everyone to spread our message of hope and a stronger Agriculture Commission across the state!
Refer everyone to our website. It’s better than any commercial we could produce, even if we had the money to do it. Keep up the good work and remain positive. We are the only qualified candidate for this office, and we’re going to win…for all Texans!

Ambition

Over the last sixteen years, the Agriculture Commissioner post has been a stepping stone to “greater things” for professional politicians. One candidate for the office this year would, in all likelihood, continue that trend. Hank Gilbert would not.

Hank Gilbert has said time and again that he only wants to be Agriculture Commissioner. And who can blame him? Hank is uniquely qualified for the job and he can do it because, as a east Texas rancher concerned about the direction the state is headed, he has lived it.

Hank’s only ambition is to the best Agriculture Commissioner in the history of the state of Texas. Contribute now to Hank’s campaign and give Hank that chance.

It Matters to Texans

Too often, people dismiss the race for Agriculture Commissioner as unimportant. Those who understand what the Commissioner does however realize just how important this election is.

Hank Gilbert is going to utilize every power of the office to help Texas. Hank has a thorough outline of his stance on issues that are important to Texans on his website. These aren’t just political taglines: Hank has intelligent, detailed and passionate ideas of how the Texas Agriculture Commissioner can do a better job for Texas.

On November 7, Texans have an important choice to make in the race for Agriculture Commissioner. Let’s reject politics as usual and elect Hank Gilbert, who’ll put politics last and agriculture first unlike the professional politicians who have held the Agriculture Commissioner post over the last decade.

Priorities

After witnessing the last two Texas Agriculture Commissioners leave the post after two terms to seek higher office, many Texan farmers and ranchers have been forced to become accustomed to the fact that many candidates for this office put their own personal political ambitions first and their responsibility as Commissioner of Agriculture last.

There is only one candidate in this race who has pledged not to seek a higher office and its Hank Gilbert. It is no secret in Austin, in the corridors of power and corruption where Senator Staples makes his living, that Staples has a strong ambition to one day run for Lieutenant Governor or Governor. Hank Gilbert’s only ambition is to be the best Agriculture Commissioner in the history of Texas.
We need an Agriculture Commissioner who will stand up for what is right … not someone who will stand up for what will get him elected another four or eight years down the road.

The impressive list of endorsements that Hank is pulling in show that people across the state are beginning to take notice that there is only one candidate who will put his job as Agriculture Commissioner before politics.

Hank endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police

Posted on August 24th, 2006 in Uncategorized by Trey

The Fraternal Order of Police Texas State Lodge has officially endorsed Hank Gilbert in the Agriculture Commissioner’s race! Thanks from all of us at Team Gilbert to every law enforcement officer in the great State of Texas (and I promise I’ll slow down)!

The FOP is one of the largest law enforcement organizations in Texas and represents thousands of officers from Dallas to Houston, El Paso to Texarkana and all points in between. There will be a press release out soon (and I’m probably in trouble for letting y’all in on the secret a little early) directly from Hank.

We’re thrilled to have you! For now, we’re still moving into our new digs (not to mention working hard for Hank!) but should be up to full posting strength soon.

For now, I did want to mention that Hank picked up a big endorsement this week and couldn’t be happier to have it. You will definitely be hearing about it today!

Thank for stopping by!
